TRAVEL TIPS

  • It is a criminal offence to disrespect the royal family, including objects depicting the King, such as money and postage stamps.
  • Wear clothing that covers your knees and elbows when visiting temples and temple complexes. Women should never touch a monk or a monk’s belongings; step out of the way on footpaths, and don’t sit next to them on public transport.
  • Avoid touching anyone on the head.
  • The best way to win over Thais is with a smile.
  • Always negotiate the fare with your tuk-tuk driver, and always assert that you do not want to stop at any place along the way to your destination.

VISA INFORMATION

  • All visa applicants are required to make an online appointment and come to the Embassy on the appointment date and time.
  • Submission time for visa application is 08.30 – 12.30 hrs. on working days of the Embassy.
  • After the submission, passports will be returned after 5 working days at 14.00 – 16.00 hrs. The visa processing time takes 5 working days.
  • For example, if an applicant submits a visa application on Friday, 9 February 2018, his/her passport could be collected on Friday, 16 February 2018. However, if Tuesday, 13 February 2018 is an Embassy’s holiday, his/her passport could be collected on Monday, 19 February 2018.
